         Lending Policies

  • a) Academics may borrow up to ten books at once. The loan limit is five books for administrative staff and associate and undergraduate students. The loan limit is seven books for master's and Doctorate  students. Lending times for all users are made as indicated in Table 1. Books are lent for a total period of thirty days.

  • b) Users must present their IDs before the borrowing procedure.

  • c) Lending of the periodicals and audiovisual items are subject to the rules in Table 2.

  • d) Unless the previously borrowed item is returned, new book, periodical or other items cannot be loaned.

  • e) Loan periods of borrowed items may be extended twice for academics and once for administrative staff and students if the items in question are not requested by other users. Renewed items may only be lent to the same user after a month following the return of the items. Overdue items cannot be renewed until the overdue fine is paid.

  • f) Items on loan may be requested by other users. Requested items cannot be renewed. Requested items may be reserved for three days following the return of the items.

  • g) Items listed in Table 2 may be loaned with the "Loan Form for Other Materials" upon the assessment of the Library and Documentation and for a period deemed appropriate by this department.

  • h) Circulation staff may recall an item borrowed by a user before its due date.

  • i) Exercise care in handling borrowed items and return them before the due dates given when you check them out.

  • j) A user loses borrowing privileges following three late returns for the academic semester in which the overdue items have been checked out.

  • k) The Library and Documentation holds the right to change loan periods and the number of materials to be loaned. The Library and Documentation is authorized to implement different policies based on current demands.

  • l) Loan periods and the number of items to be loaned in special libraries/ collections is determined by the relevant library director based on current needs provided that they inform AGU library administration.
