2023 ACTIVITIES

As the Library and Documentation Department of Abdullah Gül University (AGU), we are conducting the "I Read with My AGU Library Project," which includes creative drama and book reading workshops for elementary, middle, and high school students who wish to visit our university library. This event begins with a library visit, introduction, and exploration. Following the library visit, presentations themed around getting to know libraries are made in seminar rooms, tailored to the age groups and levels of the participants, thus teaching young generations who have never been acquainted with libraries about the services they offer. We aim to convey essential information and skills, such as which libraries they can visit for specific purposes in our region, how to behave in libraries, and how to find the resources they are looking for. Subsequently, the events conclude with interactive creative drama workshops (storytelling workshops, book reading, piano performances, etc.). In 2023, events were particularly focused on the theme of the Republic and celebrations for its 100th anniversary. A total of 984 people visited the AGU Library in 2023 and participated in these events. An eBook Central Open Access Collection user training webinar was held on March 9, 2023.
A "Read & Publish" agreement has been established between TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Wiley, and webinars have been organized solely for researchers and authors to provide information about the scope of the "Read & Publish" agreement. (23.03.2023, 05.04.2023, 28.04.2023, 03.05.2023)
As part of the Library Week (March 27 - April 2) celebration events aimed at raising awareness about reading habits in the community, an "AGÜ READS" event was organized in collaboration with the Library and Documentation Directorate, AGU Library Club, and AGU Youth Factory on March 29, 2023, from 12:30 to 13:30 at our university library and the Abdullah Gül Museum library.

Webinars have been organized for researchers interested in information about the free open access article publishing agreement between TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Wiley, as well as the latest developments in the field of open access publishing. (October 2, 2023, October 18, 2023, November 8, 2023)
Webinars titled "Turnitin: Current Announcements and Q&A Sessions" have been organized regarding the artificial intelligence detection feature in Turnitin's newly launched similarity report. (18.05.2023, 12.10.2023)

New Assistant Professorship Criteria: Strategies, Principles, and Tips for Writing and Publishing Articles in SSCI-SCI Journals webinar was held on November 29, 2023.
A webinar on Literature Review and Research Tips in the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses database, accessible through TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, was held on December 27, 2023.
